The mission of First Light Camera Club is to promote interest in the photographic arts and provide educational opportunities that enable members to achieve their highest potential as photographers. Meetings are structured to be engaging and interactive, featuring presentations by distinguished speakers from the local and regional photography community. The club also holds constructive internal critiques and occasionally competes in regional contests.

Field trips are a valued activity; previous excursions have included visits to the Willowbrook Museum in Newfield, local farmers' markets, historic sites throughout Maine and New Hampshire, Boston, and Acadia National Park.

An annual survey is conducted to determine member preferences for future programs, which directly informs the planning of activities and offerings for the coming year.

FLCC offers numerous avenues for participation. Members benefit from access to a private Facebook group where photographs may be shared for critique or simply to showcase new work. Project 52, an exclusive year-long initiative, is available to members through this platform. Additional opportunities include both formal and informal digital and print critiques, portfolio development projects, hands-on meetings, and one-on-one image consultations.

Prospective members are encouraged to join the club. The membership application is available here.
